Volunteer OpportunitiesSimple Living Institute is a volunteer-run organization. That means we rely on volunteers to accomplish our program and organizational goals. Simple Living Institute's mission is to promote opportunities for sustainable living here in our Central Florida community. Our programs are focused on education and hands-on learning experiences. Volunteering is a great way to expand your horizons, by learning about sustainability, non-profit operation and administration, and by meeting new people. Volunteer experience is also a good addition to your resume, and truly makes a difference in your personal life and community. Volunteer Opportunities•Organic Growers Meeting Volunteers We are in need of volunteers to facilitate our monthly Organic Growers Collective meeting at Leu Gardens. Volunteers are needed to assist with set up and break down of the meeting space, and to man our information table. >View Set Up Volunteer Description (.pdf) >View Tabling Volunteer Description (.pdf) •Local Food Project Volunteers The Local Food Project is in need of committee members to serve on the following project committees: Data Research, Grant Writing, Outreach, and Web Development. •Benefit Concert Volunteers Our annual benefit concert is coming up! We are in need of volunteers to assist at the event, with set up, break down, and to man our various activity stations. Volunteers are also needed to pass out flyers to promote the event. •Board Members Our Board oversees the strategic operation of our organization, and is responsible for all non-profit administration. We are seeking new Board members to help us grow our non-profit's capabilities. We are particularly in need of Board members to help us with marketing, graphic design, membership outreach, non-profit tax preparation, and public relations. Our Board meets quarterly.
