Central Florida Sustainable Food Project
Update:Our Central Florida Local Food Guide is fresh off the presses! Pick your copy up at any of our events - see our calendar for upcoming dates and locations, or download the electronic version (.pdf) now. The Local Food Guide is also available bundled with the December issue of Edible Orlando Magazine at select locations; please contact us to learn more! The Central Florida Sustainable Food Project is a comprehensive study of our local food system. The intent of this research project is to work towards a more sustainable food system in our region. Simple Living Institute encourages other Central Florida groups to participate. Together, we collaborate to research, share information, and work towards a more sustainable food system. The Central Florida Sustainable Food Project is a six-county regional inventory and mapping exercise of farms, community gardens, farmers' markets, CSAs, U-pick operations, food producers, and restaurants and businesses that sell locally grown products. The goal of the Central Florida Sustainable Food Project is to strengthen the connections between local food producers, suppliers, and consumers. Our Central Florida Local Food Guide will give consumers information on where to find farms and farmers markets, how to get involved with a community garden, and where to buy local food. If you would like to get your farm, community garden, farmers' market, or grow your own resource listed in the next publication of our Local Food Guide please email us your business name and contact info. We will include you in our next round of surveys to collect additional data to be included in the Guide. Get Involved! If you are interested in volunteering with the Central Florida Sustainable Food Project, please email us at localfood@simplelivinginstitute.org. Our PartnersThank you to our partners Homegrown Co-op and Slow Food Orlando and our supporters Whole Foods Market, Ethos Vegan Kitchen, and Edible Orlando Magazine who have contributed to the Guide. Our SponsorsThank you to our generous sponsors, without whom the Central Florida Local Food Guide would not be possible:
