1.10.2010Central Florida has seen some extreme freezing temperatures this past week! Remember to cover the grafted part (not the top!) of your tropical fruit trees. We are sponsoring many events this month including three community garden workdays and a composting workshop at the Econ Farm. Join us for the last two events of the year, a field trip to Uncle Matts Organic Citrus Orchard and our Organic Growers meeting with speaker Ed Thralls. Simple Living is always seeking ways to make the most meaningful impact in our community and abroad. From our last planning meeting we have lots of new ideas including starting up many more community gardens to get people growing in their communities. We will also be adding more information and resources on our website. In addition to a wide selection of vegetable, herb, flower, native and fruit tree starters, there will also be gardening demonstrations on the hour, every hour. 07.07.2009Our fundraiser this year will be a plant sale instead of our benefit concert. We recently got starter plants of bananas, papayas, and blueberries. Support us by buying our plants at our Organic Growers meetings or at our fall plant sale at the Econ Farm on Saturday, October 17th from 9am to 4pm.05.10.2009
