We generated proceeds of $650 from the event - all of which will be applied to our 2007 programs budget. Please join us for an evening of music and community during Simple Living's Fifth Annual Benefit Concert! This year's event will feature five musical performances, a capoeira demonstration, a drum circle, a raffle*, a bake sale, and, of course, a plant sale and exchange. 2006 Musical Lineup•Katie Burkess - Acoustic guitarist-singer-songwriter Katie Burkess plays her own beautiful folk/pop creations. Joined by friends Rubox and Basil, this talented muse is a must-hear. More info at: www.myspace.com/dodger. •The Wynn Brothers Band - Playing rock 'n roll "that looks both forward and backward," the Wynn Brothers Band embraces the cumulative nature of music, playing tribute to their favorite classic rock bands of past decades by creating new music today. •The Capoeira Brazilian Pelourinho Academy will be demonstrating capoeira, a style of Afro-Brazilian martial art. The demonstration will showcase the music, percussive instruments, gymnastic, aerobatic, and martial movements of capoeira in a circular game.•Drum Circle - Bring your congas, djembes, tambourines, and other hand percussion instruments and join the circle. •Bake Sale - After a huge success last year, the bake sale is back! Vegan-friendly homemade baked goods available for sale. •Plant Sale & Exchange - Florida-friendly plants available for sale or exchange. Chat with our Simple Living farm coordinator, Shirley Silvasy, to learn how to care for your plant. •Raffle* - Local businesses have donated items for raffle to help Simple Living Institute, Inc. raise funds for our 2007 programs and activities.
