Annual Benefit Concert

Our Seventh Annual Benefit Concert will be held Thursday, August 12th, 2010, at The Cameo. Please contact us to get involved!

2010 Benefit Concert: Thursday, August 12th, 2010, 7-11pm

Please join us for an evening of music and community during Simple Living's Seventh Annual Benefit Concert! This year's event will be focused on winning Jack Johnson concert tickets that have been donated to us and raising money for our Jack Johnson matching grant. The benefit will feature our video contest judging, a Jack Johnson cover song contest, speakers, a raffle*, a silent auction, and a kids' activity area. (*Please view the raffle disclosure.)

Where: The Cameo, 1013 East Colonial Drive Orlando, FL 32803. Map it!
When: Thursday, August 12, 2010; 7pm to 11pm.
Cost: $5 per adult (requested donation), kids get in free!

2010 Activities

•Video Contest - We'll play the top five entries in our video contest and a winner will be selected by our panel of judges with input from the audience. The winner wins a pair of Jack Johnson concert tickets.

•Jack Johnson Cover Song Contest - Whoever can play the best rendition of a Jack Johnson song will receive a pair of concert tickets.

•Speakers - Community leaders will take the mic and share their thoughts on simple living topics near and dear to their hearts.
•Children's Activity Area - Little ones are welcome to enjoy crafts, games, and fun in our kids' activity area.
•Silent Auction and Raffle* - Local businesses have donated items to help Simple Living Institute raise funds for our 2010-2011 programs and activities. Raffle tickets to win a pair of Jack Johnson tickets (valued at $100) will be $5 each. New members joining the day of the benefit concert get 5 tickets with a $20 membership donation. Existing members get 5 tickets for $20 donation. (*Please view the raffle disclosure.)

About the Annual Benefit Concert

Each year we hold the Benefit Concert as our sole fundraiser of the year. In addition to generating funds, the Benefit Concert is an exercise in community-building, and the emphasis is on bringing together local musicians, businesses, and residents.

As an organization, we focus on program-making, not money-making, throughout the year. The majority of the funding for our annual budget comes from our regular member and board member dues. The money raised at the Benefit Concert directly supports our core programs, helping us to provide our activities and workshops at low or no cost to the public.
